problems encountered when visiting film site

On the evening of tuesday the seventeenth of january the day before we started filming we went to the film site to evaluate any problems we may encounter the following day ; we encountered two main problems .
the first of these was the state of the cellar , In our plan we had only anticipated a safety check to be necessary however on arriving at the location we realized that another fifteen minuets would be needed after the safety check in order to make the cellar a safe filming environment, from these findings we realized that a reviewed version of the filming schedule would need to be created.
The second problem we encountered was our original idea of the actor being partially obscured by torchlight to create a mysterious effect , for this we purposefully chose to film when it started getting dark in the early evening however from this two problems arose , firstly we realized when filming the long shot the person standing in the road with a high visibility jacket on would be in full view of the camera and therefor spoil the shot , we therefor decided that in order not to compromise safety we should push the filming schedule back for at least an hour so that the visibility would present less of a risk . Another problem we faced was when doing a test shot on a camera of similar quality we were not sufficiently impressed with the effect caused by the torchlight therefor cementing our decision to film in the daylight rather than dark.
